Canadian feature and documentary film distributor Carlton Films', "The Backup Man" (www.myspace.com/thebackupman) a feature comedy of two small town cops (Dennis Cutts and Patrizio Sanzari) , a woman on the run (Isabelle Cyr) and a big time hit man (Constantine Kourtidis). Classic 1940 comedy, The Philadelphia Story, was Katharine Hepburn's big comeback film after she had been labeled "boxoffice poison" in the late 1930's. While on Broadway, she discovered playwright Phillip Barry's play, and after a smash run in New York as Tracy Lord, she bought the film rights to the show, headed back to Hollywood where she sold them to Louis B. Mayer for a reported $250,000, and hand-picked her director and co-stars, George Cukor, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. The film broke box office records at the time and garnered six Academy Award nominations.
