Photo Contests and Beauty Pageants

An Actor's Mouth

Somewhat similar to model and talent conventions, beauty pageants and photo contests offer participants the opportunity to gain exposure at a preliminary stage since in many instances participants in these contests are in a younger age group. Use these showcase events to prime the young contestant for the next level of achievement in child acting or commercial work. Some of the best known beauty pageants are the Miss America®, Miss USA® and Miss Universe® competitions, each with its own unique history (and excerpts of which are featured below). Remember, whenever contacting any party in this or any other show business field, always exercise caution and sound judgment. If upon entering any pageant or photo contest you have doubts or suspect fradulent activity, contact your local Better Business Bureau office.
